Herman Melville | 200 Years Young

Herman Melville, the author of Moby-Dick, was born 200 years ago. Chicago's Newberry Library is currently hosting a commemorative exhibition entitled "Melville: Finding America at Sea."

Will Hansen, curator of the exhibition, discussed why Melville's writings remain fascinating and important for 21st-century readers. He also introduced some of the rare books, artwork, and manuscripts that can be seen in the exhibition at the Newberry.

Our thanks to Will for his interesting and informative presentation and discussion. The Newberry exhibit is open through April 6.
