We Love Books. How About You?

We want the Edgewater Branch Library to have the freshest, most exciting collection of books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more—and you can help make it happen!

In recognition of our 35th Anniversary, Friends of the Edgewater Library kicked off a special book fund called Befriend A Book. (We even made a generous first donation to get it rolling!) Now we’re inviting YOU to join in the fun.

Just donate $35—or whatever feels right—to help us boost the library’s collection. Every dollar goes straight to the book fund and helps add awesome new titles to the shelves for children, teens, and adults.

And here’s the best part: Books bought through Befriend A Book will feature a special bookplate showing that you helped bring it to life. Talk about leaving your mark on the library!

Want a little extra sparkle with your gift? We’ll happily add your name to our Donor Thanks page if you’d like. You can even dedicate your donation in honor of, in celebration of or in memory of someone, or for a special or meaningful occasion. Just leave us a note in the message box below!

  • If you prefer to pay by check, please make it payable to Friends of the Edgewater Library and note on the check that it is for Befriend A Book. Please send your check to Friends of the Edgewater Library, c/o Edgewater Branch, 6000 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL 60660. You may also drop off your check in an envelope at the Edgewater Branch Library.

  • If you want to donate to our general fund for use in programming, library staff support, events, and other non-book-related activities, you can do so here.

  • If you would also like to become a Friends member, you can do that here. Basic membership is only $10.
