Let’s Lead | Leadership Team

Friends of the Edgewater Library is governed by a four-person Board, elected annually by the active membership. Special Committees address specific needs of the organization, such as Book Sale, Communications, Programming, Bylaws, Community Engagement, and others. Committee Chairs support the leadership team and serve as advisors to the Executive Committee, which guides the strategic direction of the organization.

Friends of the Edgewater Library is committed to fostering engagement, a sense of belonging, fair and equitable treatment, shared respect, and open participation to all. Our mission is to partner with and advocate for the Edgewater Branch Library, to respond to our community’s library needs, and to educate and engage the community in using and enjoying all of our library’s resources.

Committees

Book Sale | Co-Chairs: Michele Stauff | Karyn Carlton
Sorts donated books and readies them for book sales. Manages book sales scheduling, set-up and day-of logistics. Recruits volunteers to assist at book sale events.

Bylaws |Chair: Nan Rothrock
Reviews and proposes updates to the Bylaws for membership approval.

Communications | Co-Chairs: Joanne Kitsos | Denise Rondini
Communicates to current and prospective members, the community at large, the media and other organizations about Friends of the Edgewater Library’s programs and activities. Manages the Friends of the Edgewater Library website and all social media platforms. Collaborates with all committees to support their communication needs.

Community Engagement |Co-Chairs: Tom Welch | Joe Burke
Expands outreach to community organizations and businesses to inform them about the Edgewater Branch Library and Friends of the Edgewater Library. Seeks sponsorship and partnership opportunities for programs and resource sharing. Represents Friends of the Edgewater Library at community meetings.

Membership | Co-Chairs: Michael Meyer | Cindy Clark
Recruits and welcomes new members and seeks to retain existing members. Provides a source of revenue through membership dues.

Programs | Co-Chairs: Jane Ward | Michele Allen
Initiates, arranges and facilitates Friends of the Edgewater Library programs.
